i bought 3 live tracks of Eric Clapton on iTunes - Wonderful Tonight, Tears in Heaven and Over the Rainbow. I love lying in bed, turning up the volume and soaking in the music. There’s something about live music, with the background applause and screaming of the audience and the raw, less polished music that appeals to my inner sense.
It’s an inner sense which appreciates the real. I love the ungirded energies, the passions exuding from the voices. People. Life. That’s how I like them - in their true selves. To suck the marrow out of life. To feel what it really feels. That’s the greatest joy of all, ain’t it?

it’s been a really busy time at work. in a way, i’m glad because i love challenges and i think what we are doing is meaningful and of benefit to many people. at the same time, i am feeling the strain and it’s not a good feeling to have - to do things because you have to meet deadlines and because you have to. i am a free-spirit by nature and i like to go with the flow and to do things at whim. so this holidays, i have declared a stop-work order and put family, friends and myself first. which is a wonderful thing to do.
last year, i wrote a new year’s post summarising the new years of the last 7 years, and it’s remarkable how long this blog has survived. when i do things i like, i never get tired of it. holiday resolutions - to find clarity in my life. to continue the great friendships i’ve had over the years. to exercise more and to grow a little more plump.
merry christmas everyone!
